I Jesus

By Pastor Roger Redmond
I Jesus, The only place in the N.T. you find The LORD calling Himself by this personal name.  He is saying I am the source of this book, I am the Author of the Book.  This Book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ is not the product of Hollywood or someone's imagination but I am The Producer of this Book.

"I Jesus"

December 13, 2020

I saw a question regarding the virus and the end time and are they linked together.  I think everything has to do with the end time because we are racing toward the end of this dispensation.  The Day of the Lord and the Coming of the Lord are before us.  I don't think we can use the virus to start setting dates.  There have been so many date setters and the times have come and gone.  Just remember Y2K!

But the virus is a reminder of the brevity of life, the fear of death, and our frailty, and our lack of power to control events.  We are at the mercy of wickedness and were it not for the LORD we could not survive.   It is awake–up call to all who will hear and believe.

Rev 22:12  And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. Rev 22:13  I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. Rev 22:14  Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. Rev 22:15  For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie. Rev 22:16  I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star. Rev 22:17  And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

This the seventh and last beatitudes of the Book of Revelation.  And this one is given directly by Christ. 22:14  Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

Blessed are they that do his commandments - They are happy who are obedient.  The obedience of faith.  It is faith that worketh by love.  He is our first love and we are reminded to do the first works, Rev 2:4  Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. Rev2:5  Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works;……

The meaning here is blessed are they who wash their robes in the blood of Christ.  [1]7:14; 1 Cor. 6:11). The present tense points to continuous washing. There is a sense in which the saved are washed once and for all (e.g. 7:14, And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.  But we so easily defile ourselves day by day as we live with the pressures of the world that it is necessary for Christ's own to be cleansed continually (1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. )

Let us go to Joh 13:8  Peter saith unto him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me. Joh 13:9  Simon Peter saith unto him, Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head. Joh 13:10  Jesus saith to him, He that is washed needeth not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit: and ye are clean, but not all.  I do not know that Judas ever ask the LORD anything spiritual compare to his conversation with Peter's.  Look what the Bible says about the heart. Psa 51:17  The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. Psa 34:18  The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.

The Gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ is God's power to establish you and it is made known to all people for the obedience of faith, Romans 16:25-26 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ…. But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:

It is the LORD who draws you to Him, James Jas 1:18  Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.  "Begat" Means Born Again – same as 1 Peter 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

James 1:21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. Engrafted means implanted when you are saved.

The word "blessed" means greater than human happiness.  It is peace and contentment that only God can give.   describes the blessed("fortunate") position of believers because they humbly (they came empty-handed  as a sinner needing His Salvation)  receive God's provisions (favor)

This happens by receiving (obeying) the Lord's in birthing of faith.  Hence faith (4102/pístis) and 3107 (makários) are closely associated, Rom 4:5  But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. Rom 4:6  Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works, Rom 4:7  Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.

So who are those in verse 15 but they who failed to wash their robes in the blood of the Lamb, Rev 22:15  For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

Rev 22:16  I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.

16  I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churchesWhat things? The things of this book of Revelation.  Remember back, in the beginning, Rev 1:10  I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet, Rev 1:11  Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.

Therefore, the things He is writing in this age of Grace is for us to be prepared.

22:14 "……, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city  We have no right to the tree of life in our self but that only His Grace has provided.  So the word used here - e????s?´a exousia - means in John 1:12,  "power." It is by grace, and all the right which we have to the tree of life is founded on the fact of God's Grace and it pleased Him and it is His graciousness to confer upon us the believer.  John 1:12  But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: John 1:13  Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

And who are those who received Him? But to no other than them, that believed on His name.  Salvation is at the point of believing,  But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God,  to them that believe on his name

To the tree of life - They would not be forbidden to approach that tree as Adam was forbidden because of sin. 1C.o_15:22  For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive -  but would be permitted always to partake of it, and would live forever.  There is little doubt or at least in my mind Rev.22:2  and Revelation22:14 imply that there will be both glorified bodies and natural bodies in eternity {without their sin nature of course.}

Rev 22:2  In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. Remember Adam and Eve were in their natural bodies before they sinned.

See Isaiah 9:7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this. The increase of His government is the increase in people.  That can only be people in their natural bodies.  There will be babies born in eternity [without the sin nature].  Can you imagine life now without the curse – the world before sin came.  I think there will be homes and families in eternity.  In eternity there will be people in the glorified Bodies and there will be people in their natural bodies.

And may enter in through the gates into the city - The New Jerusalem, Revelation 21:2. They would have free access there; they would be permitted to abide there forever.

"I Jesus"  Why would He say. "I Jesus".  That is the name we know Him by.  " Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." It is as Jesus He came to us

1 ) Before He was born the angel said to Joseph, And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

2 ) It was Jesus that took upon Himself the form of a man. Heb 2:16  For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham. Heb 2:17  Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. Heb 2:18  For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.

3 ) It was Jesus that performed miracles in healing the sick, opening blind eyes, and raised Lazarus from the dead, Joh 11:25  Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: Joh 11:26  And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

4 ) It is Jesus nailed to the cross and said "It is finished"

5 ) It is Jesus who appeared to Thomas after His resurrection and said, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.

6 )  It is Jesus who is in heaven for us and ever lives,   Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

And after all these years He is still Jesus. He said, I Jesus… His Name today in Heaven is Jesus.

7 ) It is the Holy Spirit who found you, led you, convicted your heart, and led you to Jesus.

Rev 22:17  And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

The Holy Spirit and The Bride say come.[saying to Jesus come] And let him that heareth say, Come.  If we have heard, If you are hearing from the LORD, that means you are walking with Him, say come LORD Jesus.

And now the language changes to an invitation to any who desires this salvation, to any who are willing to believe on Jesus can take the water of life freely. That means you are welcome to believe on Him.

Isa 55:1  Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.
