I write to encourage you in the LORD. He is calling you!
Sadly so many people do not consider understanding the scripture to be important. In many conversations, you hear words like this: that for the preacher, the teacher to know but not for me. That is so very wrong. The work of the ministry is to bring every person to maturity in Christ. Col 1:27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: Col 1:28 Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:
The word “perfect”: means growing -up, to full age in Christ. That can only be done by rightly dividing the Word of God, coming to a right understanding. In this blog I want you to understand
1]why your salvation is Eternal [can never be lost, forfeited, taken away from you].
You are Born of God, Joh 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Joh 1:13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
From the Word of God [i.e. John 3:7-16], you know that you are Born from Above when you believe on Christ for His promise of everlasting life. Also, you know it is the Holy Spirit that brings you to Christ.
It is God, through His Spirit that calls you to Salvation. Joh 3:7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. Joh 3:8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. He compares the working of the Holy Spirit with the wind: “ where it listeth” means where He sends it. When you were saved, it was the LORD who sent the Spirit to you. You can see the leaves moving by the wind but you do not know any more than that! You do not know from whence it came or where it is going. So one raises their hand saying I do not know I am saved! Or the man who raises his head and looks at you, saying Pastor please come see me. Or you coming saying, I want to be saved or you wherever responding to the Holy Spirit. What is the Holy Spirit asking you to do? To believe on Jesus Christ! For His promise of everlasting life. He is not asking you to complete a study on five [5] steps to Jesus. Or any other such lie of satan but only to believe.
We always lose sight of truth but we hold on to what is popular with current thinking. So let us look at scripture. Jesus said, 4:16-18
Jesus invites her to come.
She had five husbands. They either died or divorcement was involved.
No reason is given for the divorces.
After five marriages she would not have been young
In those days men put their wives away for any reason they liked.
The Samaritan Law and the Jewish law She would have been stoned to death.
In my opinion, no one knew of her last friend but Jesus only.
The point is Jesus went to Samaria for her, Joh 4:1 When therefore the Lord knew how the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John, Joh 4:2 (Though Jesus himself baptized not, but his disciples,) Joh 4:3 He left Judaea, and departed again into Galilee. Joh 4:4 And he must needs go through Samaria. The well is a meeting place: Abraham’s servant who was sent to get Isaac a Bride met her at a well. Jacob met Rachel at the well. Love, at first sight, had its beginning in the Bible.
Jesus sat down on the well, The well was symbolic of her religion. She was not offended by what Jesus said. That is telling. He did not condemn. He was going to the cross to die for her just like He did for you and me. When she knew Him, she left her waterpot and went into the city. Joh 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
Joh 4:25 The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.
Joh 4:26 Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.
Joh 4:27 And upon this came his disciples, and marvelled that he talked with the woman: yet no man said, What seekest thou? or, Why talkest thou with her? [That was unheard of – not a custom for a Jewish man to be seen talking to a Samaritan woman]
In the Conversion of Lydia, Act 16:13 And on the sabbath we went out of the city by a river side, where prayer was wont to be made; and we sat down, and spake unto the women which resorted thither. Act 16:14 And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul. Act 16:15 And when she was baptized, and her household, she besought us, saying, If ye have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and abide there. And she constrained us.
Why did she do that? So she could hear the Word of God and grow in Christ.
Jesus did not follow the tradition of men. He went where He needed to go and spoke to whom He needed.
Joh 4:28 The woman then left her waterpot, and went her way into the city, and saith to the men,
Joh 4:29 Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?
Joh 4:30 Then they went out of the city, and came unto him.
There is something in the ending of this story that sticks in my mind, Joh 4:39 And many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him for the saying of the woman, which testified, He told me all that ever I did.
Joh 4:40 So when the Samaritans were come unto him, they besought him that he would tarry with them: and he abode there two days.
Joh 4:41 And many more believed because of his own word;
Joh 4:42 And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.
Were they afraid to give her credit for her testimony? The truth is they would have never known had she not went into the city and told them. They went out to hear because of her! V 30
Listen to all the story: 4:31-38. See Acts 1:8
The disciple reaped on fields that where the woman had sown seed.
If you drink of any water than the water that Jesus gives you will thirst again. Joh 4:11 The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water? Joh 4:12 Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle? Joh 4:13 Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: Joh 4:14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. You cannot believe on Jesus Christ for eternal life and then thirst for everlasting life again,
1Jn 3:9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. What is that seed that remains? It is something implanted by God. James 1: Jas 1:18 Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures. Jas 1:21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. I think that is more than His Word that has been implanted in you. It is something He gave you, Eternal Life and He is the Eternal One. So to speak, that seed is His Divine Gift, Born from above a new life, His Life, implanted in you. That new life does not sin. It cannot.
Sin comes from the flesh, Why the Birth by a Virgin, the miraculous conception, she had not known a man. Luk 1:34 Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? Luk 1:35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.
Why? To bypass the seed of man. The sin nature is passed through the seed of man. We are sinners by our birth and require being born again. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. What does this verse say? 1Jn 3:9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
So He gives us His seed! His Life, His Nature! We still battle the flesh, the Old nature. Sin comes through the flesh but it can not touch His Seed that is in us. It is that battle with the flesh that we stand at the JSOC to give an account.
His divine expectation for you is to be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures. I think that is why He is always dealing, drawing. Much like the Ninety and nine, the Lost coin, His son who was lost [they all were own by the owner] [Luke 15]. That is why the JSOC is a time to prepare for, in which we give an account for our life lived in the flesh. Now is the time to return home, confess our sin, and receive His forgiveness.
