Seven Words Changed Everything

By Pastor Roger Redmond
I write to you because you believed on Jesus to save you, and Jesus said, I write to you that believe on me so that you may know that ye have eternal life and that you might believe on the name of the Son of God. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. 1John 5:13. Therefore, do you believe His promise of Life is true? Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.

Mark 16:6, And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him.

Supporting reference, Mat 27:62 Now the next day, that followed the day of the preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees came together unto Pilate, Mat 27:63 Saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet alive, After three days I will rise again. Mat 27:64 Command therefore that the sepulchre be made sure until the third day, lest his disciples come by night, and steal him away, and say unto the people, He is risen from the dead: so the last error shall be worse than the first. Mat 27:65 Pilate said unto them, Ye have a watch: go your way, make it as sure as ye can. Mat 27:66 So they went, and made the sepulchre sure, sealing the stone, and setting a watch.

Mat 28:1 In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre. Mat 28:2 And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it. Mat 28:3 His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow: Mat 28:4 And for fear of him the keepers did shake and became as dead men. Mat 28:5 And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. Mat 28:6 He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.

1]  The Resurrection of Christ shows the works of Christ are the Works of the Father, In John 14:1 Jesus told us He is God, Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. V 9-11, I.e.   Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.   Jesus is saying, if you refuse to take my personal word of Who I am, then believe me for the work’s sake: they are the irrefutable evidence of Who I am.  The emphasis is on believing Jesus.

There is no greater reason to believe on Christ alone for eternal life than His death and resurrection, Joh 20:17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.

“He wants all to understand He is not just a prophet, not just a teacher, not just a good man: but as the Messiah; He is the Word made flesh [John 1:14], He is God incarnate and to be in his presence is to be in the presence of the Father.

The unity of The Father and the Son is seen and Abraham understood that in, Gen 22:8 And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.  God did provide Himself – Jesus is God incarnated, the Lamb of God that taketh away the sin of the World

Heb 2:14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;

2][ The Resurrection of Christ answers the question, “Why the Cross,” Romans 5:6-8, For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.  For scarcely for a righteous man will one die yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.  But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

From Genesis to Revelation a sacrifice for sin was required, Genesis 3:22, = Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them. Rev. 1:5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us and washed us from our sins in his own blood, Rev 1:18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

Someone had to die and that someone is Jesus. Heb 9:26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. The sheep for a sacrifice had to be taken from the sheep.  We are not sheep! We are people and so our sacrifice had to be taken from among us.  And that ONE is Jesus, Heb 2:14  Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; Heb 2:15  And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. Heb 2:16  For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham. Heb 2:17  Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.

What does all this mean? A] It means salvation is the Gift of God. Eph. 2:8-9

B] It means that your sin made Jesus sin and made you the righteousness of God in Him . 2 Cor. 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.  It is God who made His Son sin

C] It means there is nothing between you and God: just your unbelief.  We are living in a time where people listen but do not believe.  I am asking you to believe in Jesus for His promise.  Jesus promised you peace, John 14:27, Isaiah 26:3 and Jesus promised you everlasting life, John 6:47, 1 John 2:25.  He is the one who guarantees everlasting life to all who believes in Him for it. He did the Work of the Cross, and the work of Jesus is the Work of the Father, Jesus answered and said unto them, “This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent. My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.

3] The Resurrection of Christ means He has an endless life, and you have a Living Saviour. Romans 5:10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

We were enemies and without strength, Romans 5:6, For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.

We were reconciled to God by the death of His Son, 2 Cor. 5:19,  To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.  Jesus is the word of reconciliation

V 20,  says, “Be ye reconciled to God” How? By believing you were reconciled. Joh 5:24  Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

So, if you have been saved, reconciled, by Christ death then how are you saved by b=His life, as given in Romans 5:10? Answer: Hebrews 7:25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

1] He intercedes for you [ that is different than Romans 8:26. Jesus is at the Father’s right hand]

2] He is your advocate with the Father, 1Jn 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

3] He is your faithful High Priest, Heb 4:14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. Heb 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Heb 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

It is us, who are forgiven of our sin. Sin required a payment, a sacrifice, a death. Sin is not forgiven it was put away by the sacrifice of Christ, “..... but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.”  Our sin was judged at the cross more than two thousand years ago. A reason He came was to die on the cross taking our sin in His own body and in doing so became our sacrifice for sin by the will of God, Hebrews 10:9-10, Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.   By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.  His Boby that was prepared by the Father, Heb 10:5 Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me
